The partnership with Junior Achievement® (JA) promotes education, supports students interested in the travel and tourism industry and provides long-term volunteer opportunities for FICP members and hospitality partners.
JA is dedicated to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their future, and make smart academic and economic choices. JA programs are delivered by corporate and community volunteers, and provide relevant, hands-on experiences that give students from kindergarten through high school knowledge and skills in financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship. Today, JA reaches 4.6 million students per year in more than 210,000 locations across the United States, and serves a total of 10.2 million students by operations in more than 120 countries worldwide.

At the 2017 Annual Conference, funds raised through the Silent Auction resulted in donations of $27,705.49 to Junior Achievement® (JA) of San Diego and $41,558.24 to GlobalGiving. Due to recent natural disasters, the FICP Board of Directors unanimously agreed to redirect some of this year’s Silent Auction proceeds to support disaster relief efforts.
