The stability that insurers have long relied on for predictable risk pricing and consistent growth is disappearing. There's been a succession of short-term crises so far this century that the industry, and our society at large has had to adapt to including a global pandemic, severe supply chain disruptions, global conflict, high inflation, the emergence of Gen AI and multiple historically extreme weather events. In this session, we discuss the future of insurance and how to stay abreast of important trends impacting our industry.

Marie Carr, Partner, PwC

Marie Carr is a senior strategy partner in PwC’s Insurance Strategy practice with more than 30 years of professional experience. While her client serving experience spans Financial Services, Healthcare, and Public Sector, her emphasis is in insurance, including property and casualty, life, disability, broking and reinsurance.

Marie serves executive leadership teams and corporate boards in the development of digital growth strategies, which take advantage of emerging trends and disruptions, positioning firms for long term profitable growth. Marie helps executive teams gain critical alignment on the decisions important to navigate growth and successfully execute. 

Marie serves on PwC’s insurance thought leadership editorial board and leads the thought leadership development and marketing efforts for the insurance sector across consulting, assurance, and tax. Recent insurance sector publications include Insurance 2030, Customer First Strategy, 2024 GenAi Insurance Trends, “No Regrets” moves for Personal Lines P&C, and Commercial P&C Considerations.

Marie has a Bachelors in Economics from Northwestern University, a Masters of Business Administration from University of Chicago Booth School of Business. In addition to work in management consulting, Marie has a PhD in Theology and has served as an Adjunct professor of Global Economics and Macro Economics at the North Park University’s Graduate School of Business and Nonprofit Management.
