Did you know?

Mother's Day wasn't always about showering Mom with gifts and appreciation. In fact, it was originally a movement started by three women, Ann Reeves Jarvis, Julia Ward Howe and Ann’s daughter, Anna M. Jarvis. Each woman had a different version of what Mother's Day meant, but the common theme was promoting peace and community in the wake of war. After the passing of her mother, Anna M. Jarvis campaigned for a day honoring all mothers as a way to memorialize her mom's life-long commitment to activism. Learn more about the history surrounding Mother’s Day.

Stay Connected to Your FICP Community

FICP recognizes some of you may currently be in transition due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and is sorry if you are experiencing these challenges. Please know that we want you all to stay connected to our community during these challenging times. Hospitality partners who affiliated with FICP earlier in the year may remain affiliated through the end of 2020 even if they are no longer employed by the organization through which they originally joined, and receive access to non-event benefits. In accordance with FICP Bylaws, FICP meetings professionals may also remain members for six months during transitions as well. Make sure you update your contact information by logging into your FICP account so that FICP and our members and partners may continue to contact you, and help spread the word to those who may be unaware of these opportunities.

Next FICP Chat: Going Virtual

FICP meetings professional members and hospitality partners are invited to the next FICP Chat, focusing on the role "going virtual" will have in our industry moving forward.
