San Diego, Calif. – Members of Financial & Insurance Conference Professionals (FICP) announced the meetings professionals elected to serve on the association’s 2018 board of directors. The announcement was made at the 2017 FICP Annual Conference, held at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego, Calif.
Joining the board is Allison Cooper, Vice President, Conference Experiences, LPL Financial, Fort Mill, S.C. Her three-year term will become effective January 1, 2018.
By acclamation, Marcia Merando, LLIF, FLMI, LUTCF, Director of Marketing, Frankenmuth Insurance, Frankenmuth, Mich., will become the 2018 Chair.
The board of directors appointed Wayne Robinson, CMP, CMM, Assistant Vice President, FM Global, Johnston, R.I. as Chair-Elect. Robinson will assume the FICP Chair role in 2019.

Concluding her term and departing the board at the end of 2017 is Caryn Taylor Lucia, Vice President, Corporate Event Marketing, SEI.
To serve on the board of directors, one must be an FICP member in good standing for at least three consecutive years; be able to maintain their corporate and/or meeting planning responsibilities as well as their board responsibilities; have the full support of their company’s management; and have at least five years of work experience as a meetings and events professional.
2018 Hospitality Partner Advisory Committee Announced
Martin Johnston, Corporate Director, Northeast & Insurance Sales, Montage International, has been named chair of the FICP Hospitality Partner Advisory Committee (HPAC), effective January 1, 2018.
The HPAC welcomes Katina Athanasiou, Vice President, Charters, Meetings & Incentives, Regent Seven Seas Cruises & Oceania Cruises; and Sterena Strickland, Regional Vice President of Sales, ACCESS Destination Services, to three-year terms on the HPAC.
