Orlando, Fla. – The Members of Financial & Insurance Conference Professionals (FICP) elected three meetings professionals to serve on the association’s 2019 board of directors. The announcement was made at the 2018 FICP Annual Conference, held at the JW Marriott Orlando Grande Lakes in Orlando, Fla.
Joining the board are Meredith Brewer, Corporate Vice President – Corporate Events, New York Life Insurance Company; Laura Rodrigues, CMP, CMM, Senior Manager, Corporate Events, RBC Insurance Services, Inc.; and Jennifer Squeglia, CMP, Independent Contractor, Boston Private. Their three-year terms will become effective January 1, 2019.
By acclamation, Wayne Robinson, CMP, CMM, Assistant Vice President, FM Global, will become the 2019 Chair. Marcia Merando, LLIF, FLMI, LUTCF, Director of Marketing, Frankenmuth Insurance, will serve as Immediate Past Chair.
The board of directors appointed Michael Burke, CMP, Director, Conference & Travel Services, The Hanover Insurance Group, as Chair-Elect. Burke will become Chairman of the Board in 2020.
Also continuing on the board in 2019 are:

- Erin Longo, CMP, Director, Conference and Meeting Services, Prudential
- Lynn Schwandt, CMP, Senior Event Planner, Thrivent Financial
- Executive Director Steve Bova, CAE, Financial & Insurance Conference Professionals (FICP)
Concluding their terms and departing the board at the end of 2018 are Sherri Lindenberg, CLU, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Crump; Joseph Scully, Senior Director, Meeting & Event Management, John Hancock Financial Services; and Katie Senkowski, CMP, Manager, Meetings & Events, AIG Benefit Solutions.
To serve on the board of directors, one must be an FICP member in good standing for at least three consecutive years; be able to maintain their corporate and/or meeting planning responsibilities as well as their board responsibilities; have the full support of their company’s management; and have at least five years of work experience as a meetings and events professional.
2019 Hospitality Partner Advisory Committee Announced
The FICP Board of Directors has appointed David Riederman, Director, Global Accounts, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, chair of the FICP Hospitality Partner Advisory Committee (HPAC), effective January 1, 2019.
The HPAC welcomes Lori James-Brownell, President and Owner of AZA Events, Inc.; and Lisa Ray, Director of Financial and Insurance Sales for The Resort at Pelican Hill, to three-year terms on the HPAC.
Also continuing on the HPAC are:
- Katina Athanasiou, Vice President, Charters, Meetings & Incentives, Regent Seven Seas Cruises & Oceania Cruises
- Lynn Lee, Global Sales Director, PRA
- Sterena Strickland, Regional Vice President of Sales, ACCESS Destination Services

Departing the HPAC at the conclusion of their terms at the end of 2018 are: Martin Johnston, Corporate Director, Northeast & Insurance Sales, Montage International; and Michael Dominguez, Senior Vice President & Chief Sales Officer, MGM International.
