Abstract
This session will cover a wide-base of content starting with a “Social Media 101” to explain the purposes and uses of online communities. The discussion will become more detailed and specific as we dive into the four major pain points the event world is currently facing and how a community approach to events can remedy what is ailing this industry. The session will then evolve and take a look at the future of all live events, and how those embracing and properly managing communities will have new avenues to monetize in the near future. The information exchanged will challenge much of the status quo in the events world.
