Travel
St-Jean-Baptiste Day, celebrated on June 24, is Québec City’s national holiday and a vibrant expression of the province’s culture and pride. In Québec City, festivities begin the evening of June 23 with a major outdoor concert on the Plains of Abraham, creating a lively but friendly atmosphere throughout the city. Attendees arriving early are warmly encouraged to join in the celebration and experience this unique tradition firsthand.
Airport
Plan ahead to ensure a seamless travel experience. Fairmont Le Château Frontenac is approximately 10 miles from Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport.
Upon your arrival, taxis, Uber and Lyft are readily available at the airport.
Attendees can also choose to fly into Montréal–Trudeau International Airport and take a train 160 miles to Québec City using VIA Rail Canada.
Attendees should be aware that air travel costs this summer are expected to be higher than usual due to two major events: the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the United States’ 250th Anniversary celebrations. While World Cup matches will take place in select cities, the ripple effect on flights will be nationwide, as many travelers plan to extend their trips before or after the games. Early indicators already show elevated prices, so attendees are encouraged to book airfare as soon as possible to help mitigate costs.
