FICP offers members leadership opportunities through its Board of Directors, Design Teams, Committees and various Task Forces, all which help drive the association toward its worthwhile mission.
The Board if Directors is a governing board of 9-12 Planner Members elected by the general membership. The role of the Board is to govern, establish policy and make strategic decisions about where the organization is going, what it stands for and how much time will be spent to accomplish its goals. Such decisions include:
1. Governance – Determining desired outcomes for success.
§ Mission, vision and goals
§ Approve all policies
§ Make decisions as a Board – one unit
2. Financial – Ensuring adequate fiscal, technological and human resources.
§ Approve the budget
§ Monitor financial performance
§ Determine financial policy
3. Staff – Overseeing actions of the executive director and serving as partners.
4. Future Directions – Planning and goal setting and monitoring programs/services
The FICP holds four meetings per year and generally reserves a portion of their meetings to meet jointly with the Hospitality Partners Committee.
FICP has Design Teams for both the Summer Education Forum and Annual Conference. Design teams are determined by the person chairing the group. The VP, Education is the Chair of the Education Forum Design Team and the Immediate Past President is the chair of the Annual Conference Design Team. Chapters are required to form their own design teams to plan their meetings.
FICP Committees and Task Forces are determined by the Board of Directors based on the needs of the association.

Standing Committees are Chapter Leaders, Communications, Education, Membership and Sponsorship
