Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

After dialogue with key stakeholders and because of the various government restrictions, including restrictions on gatherings, FICP is unable to proceed with the FICP Annual Conference and, therefore, FICP has been forced to cancel. However, in its place, FICP will host an alternative, fully virtual experience, FICP: Reimagined on November 16-18. Below are answers to questions you may have related to this change.

What will happen with my Annual Conference registration?

If you are a meetings professional who has already registered for the 2020 FICP Annual Conference, you may choose to have your registration transferred to FICP: Reimagined. As the registration fees are lower for FICP’s virtual experience, you will receive a refund for the difference within the next six weeks. Should you wish to cancel your registration, you may do so for a full refund. If you have any questions, please contact us.

If you booked a room at The Washington Hilton within the FICP room block, please cancel your room directly with the hotel. Additionally, please be sure to contact your airline or travel agency to reschedule your flight(s), if you have already booked them.

Will the 2020 Annual Conference sessions be held virtually?

FICP recognizes that you were looking forward to coming together in November, and remains committed to creating opportunities for you to connect with others in our community through whatever options we can make available.

FICP is pleased to announce it will host an all-new FICP: Reimagined, a three-day virtual experience November 16-18 featuring much of the world-class education your Annual Conference Event Team secured for the in-person event, and innovative ideas from our community as we strategize and adapt to a rapidly evolving future. Please hold time on your calendars and stay tuned for updates.

Will there be other opportunities to earn CMP credits this year from FICP?

FICP: Reimagined will be hosted on a virtual platform that centralizes and enhances your virtual experience, while allowing you to earn 12+ CMP credits through access to all recorded breakout sessions for up to 30 days post-event. This is more than you would have earned by attending the 2020 FICP Annual Conference.

How will event sponsorships and commitments be handled?

Sponsors that have already committed and paid for the 2020 Annual Conference can apply a portion of the funds to the new FICP: Reimagined. For sponsors that have not paid for their Annual Conference sponsorship, the FICP sponsorship team we will reach out to you separately to determine participation in FICP: Reimagined. Confirmed sponsors can choose to apply the funds they have already committed for 2020 Annual Conference to the new FICP: Reimagined offerings, or defer the funds to the 2021 FICP event of their choice and must participate in the competitive entry sales process. Sponsors will be highly encouraged to support FICP: Reimagined, which will provide opportunities for visibility and recognition to the FICP community at a time when it is important to stay connected.

Sponsors will need to re-register for the event in order to capture new registration information and details. Sponsorship must be paid in full prior to registering for the event and will receive a new registration code.

Will FICP change other upcoming in-person event dates?

FICP will continue to assess the public health situation in the locations of future events, along with the anticipated group size and location. Please watch for other event updates and information as they are available.
