The meetings industry has pulled together to form an Industry Consortium as a proactive measure and serve as a collective voice regarding the value of meetings, events and incentive travel. Primary audiences are the U.S. government, media and general public. Our industry’s concerted efforts to protect corporate meetings and motivational events are beginning to pay off. While we have a long way to go, we are beginning to make a difference. Below are links to the most recent and relevant information. FICP will provide updates as new information becomes available.

• NEW “FACE TIME. It Matters.” is a grassroots industry initiative designed to promote the benefits of meeting face-to-face. The campaign was developed in response to one of the most challenging years ever faced by the meeting, convention and exhibition industries. FICP is proud to support this initiative aimed at helping to identify and promote the unique benefits associated with meeting face-to-face. • A study by Oxford Economics USA illustrates how much companies stand to gain when workers travel for meetings, conventions, training or as an incentive for performance. For every dollar invested in business travel, businesses experience an average $12.50 in increased revenue and $3.80 in new profits. Read more highlights here.
