Help Us Strengthen FICP’s Membership and Expand Your Network!
The long wait is over and 2010 is here! It is time to wish 2009 a fond farewell and focus on all the possibilities the New Year will bring.
The economy is rebounding, our industry is once again realizing the importance of meetings and planners are conducting all types of meetings. While the meetings may not look the same as in prior years, the importance and value of our industry and profession has been brought to light.
Our final 2009 membership numbers are as follows:
402 renewed planners
68 new planners
13 in transition
630 renewed HPers
30 new HPers
While our numbers were down 14% from 2008 overall, our membership retention was stronger than like associations. We contribute this to the high value our membership places on the association ― which is heavily built on the relationships and interaction between you, our members. We plan to continue to provide you with those opportunities through the following:
• Online Exchange
• Complimentary Education (Webinars, Talk Radios)
• Regional Meetings
• Education Forum – June 16–18, 2010 in St. Louis, Missouri
• Annual Conference – November 17–20, 2010, Miami, Florida We encourage you to get involved in all that FICP has to offer. You get back threefold what you put into the association.
Our membership goal for 2010 is to add 55 new planners and realize an 85% retention rate. With the assistance of the membership committee, volunteers and YOU we can be successful. Please help us spread the word about our great association and the many benefits we offer to industry planners. Details on the member recruitment contest and member nomination campaign will follow in the coming weeks.
On a final note, please take a moment to renew your membership for 2010 and help us reach our goals!
Here’s to a great 2010!
Regards,

Kelli Livers, CMP
