Help Us Reach Our Goal
Membership growth is a key element of our 2008 strategic plan. It is the foundation upon which the association is built. With your help, membership growth in 2007 set another record - 525 total planner members or a 5% increase in membership over 2006. Congratulations and thanks for your help in building a strong, vibrant, professional organization!
In 2008, FICP has a goal of reaching 600 planner members. As the organization of choice for the professional financial and insurance conference and event planner, this should be easy to achieve. It should be easy. After all, when you look at the strengths of the organization and the opportunities provided to professional planners, it's easy to see why:
- FICP has one of the highest member satisfaction levels compared to other professional associations.
- FICP has one of the highest ratings for value of membership for dues paid.
- FICP meets or exceeds membership needs for peer relationship building, professional information resourcing and networking with industry suppliers.
- FICP is a mentor rich organization with more than 50% of the membership serving for more than ten years.
- FICP responds to member needs with a strong headquarters staff and board of directors team.
-FICP provides educational programs that are valuable, relevant and meaningful.
And, we're getting better every day!
In order to reach our 2008 membership growth goal, we have created a new membership marketing plan that includes a number of strategies to impact membership recruitment and retention. It will result in adding between 150 and 175 new members, increasing current member retention from 80% to 85% and adding members from affiliated associations such as LIMRA, MDRT, GAMA and NAFIA.
To achieve this, we will be marketing more heavily to financial services organizations, utilizing a corporate membership dues discount program and building member loyalty through additional member benefits. Even with all of these strategies, we need the help of every FICP planner and hospitality partner to achieve our 2008 recruitment goal.
Whether you are a new member or a veteran planner, paying your annual FICP dues now is an investment in your professional growth. We are the preferred association for our industry's conference planning profession. Visit the FICP Web site today to renew your membership.
Join us and invest your time in helping us grow. As a planner member or hospitality partner, we ask you to commit to sharing our story with non-members. Tell them about the benefits of FICP membership and the extraordinary relationships you have developed through participation. Have them visit our Web site and explore the possibilities. Encourage them to join. Make it your goal to recruit one new member.
Finally, be sure to renew by February 29, 2008, and your name and contact information will be listed in the 2008 Membership Directory. It's a great networking resource. Renew before this date so we can all benefit.
Help us set another membership record in 2008.
Sincerely,

Daniel J. Young, CMP, LLIF

New Corporate Membership Option for 2008
FICP is now offering a special membership package for companies whose meetings/conference departments have five (5) or more planners renewing or joining the association. The corporate membership incentive is designed to encourage more planners to take part in the events, education and resources that FICP has to offer. The first four planners from a company pay the regular membership dues amount of $250 (USD), but each additional planner from the same company after the first four pays only $150 (USD) for dues. Planners who join or renew together will be listed under the same company name in the membership directory.
If you are interested in finding out more, or if you would like to renew or join planners under a corporate membership, please click here. Download and complete one form to make a single dues payment for all planners who are joining or renewing together from the same company.
FICP to Welcome New Members from Related Industry Associations
Professionals who work in a meeting, conference and/or event planning capacity for related associations are now eligible for membership in FICP. FICP values networking opportunities and partnerships with meeting planners in related associations, and per a recent
bylaws change at the 2007 Annual Business Meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona, professionals who plan meetings and events for related associations may now apply for full planner membership.
The association must service, and include members from, the following industries/categories: insurance services, property/casualty, financial services, banks and investment/brokerage firms.
Association professionals who wish to apply for membership will be evaluated on an individual basis. Membership is subject to approval by the FICP Membership Committee and the Board of Directors. For more information, please click here.
Media Partner or Honorary Membership
FICP also offers media partner membership for trade press or honorary membership for retired meeting planners. If you are interested in learning more about these membership offerings, please contact FICP. |

nTAG at the 2007 Annual
nTAG was a new feature offered at the 2007 Annual Conference and initial reviews found that most attendees thought the devices were very useful (though a bit cumbersome at times). All attendees should have received their individual post-event information to include profiles and session attendance confirmation. Please contact FICP if you have not received your nTAG information. |
