Our thanks to all who attended the 2010 FICP Education Forum, Meet Me In St. Louis: The Archway to New Discoveries, which took place June 16-18 at the Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark. The education and best practice sharing in this intimate atmosphere proved to be a notable experience for all those who attended.
Learning
Four general sessions and 11 breakouts comprised the FICP Education Forum educational program. The opening keynote by futurist David Houle was especially well received. Said one attendee, “The most stimulating and insightful speaker I have heard in a very long time. Very helpful in putting things in perspective. Highly recommended. Thank you for having him on the program.” Austin Brock, Disney Institute Facilitator’s keynote on creativity was also a highlight: “So engaging and really relevant to our industry and everyday life.” A heartfelt thank you to these and all speakers who made the Forum a success this year.
Proceedings from many of the sessions at this year’s Education Forum can be found here.
Networking
The Wednesday night reception and baseball game at Busch Stadium was sponsored by Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark and Hilton Worldwide. While the St. Louis Cardinals lost the game to the Seattle Mariners, great things were still happening for Forum attendees. Raffle tickets were sold for prizes donated by local St. Louis businesses, hotel properties across the country, and for a Hawaiian vacation donation by Marriott Hotels and Resorts.
At Thursday night’s reception sponsored by Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch, attendees were able to Build-A-Bear, with all proceeds and 50 bears donated to Our Little Haven.
Giving Back
Through the raffle, the Build-A-Bear project, and FICP’s Facebook campaign, FICP raised $2,252 for Our Little Haven, a non-profit independent agency that provides a safe, healing environment for children recovering from abuse, neglect, abandonment or early childhood trauma. FICP is honored to have helped this worthy cause in the greater St. Louis area.
