Call for Speakers

We are pleased to open the Call for Speakers for the 2012 FICP Education Forum to be held at Charleston Place in Charleston, SC on June 20-22.

The theme of the 2012 conference is “Higher Learning in the Lowcountry. Connect. Learn. Evolve.”

What is FICP Looking For In a Keynote Speaker?

• Industry forward thinkers, such as Roger Dow, President and CEO of the U.S. Travel Association, who can share their economic indicators, trends and where they see the industry headed.

• Charleston-based speakers such as authors Pat Conroy and Dorthea Benton Frank or Chef Shawn Brock.

• Reporters and media leaders based out of national news media in the Atlanta area.

• Speakers from charitable organizations such as the Jimmy Carter Foundation or Habitat for Humanity.

• Relevant Speakers
   - Motivational speakers who would inspire FICP members’ own high-achieving meeting attendees through their stories
   - Business-oriented speakers who can help FICP members’ entrepreneurial attendees succeed in their jobs
   - Speakers that are able to provide takeaways that attendees are able to implement immediately.

We also invite submissions for the breakout session program for the Education Forum.

FICP breakout sessions are typically 60-90 minutes in length and focus on industry specific education.

Please reference the following session title and description as a good example of what to submit. Be sure to include not only a description of what information will be covered in the presentation, but also the takeaways the attendees will learn.

Going “Green” Professionally and Personally
The changing environment and what we can do to help has been a huge topic of discussion world wide for several years now. Over the last year, many meeting planners, hotels and other companies in the hospitality industry have been changing the way they do business to ensure their meetings & conferences are sustainable. During this presentation you will learn what meeting planners and their hospitality partners have been doing over the last year to help their companies plan green and sustainable meetings. These changes can be done in “baby steps” with little to no interruption of the meeting experience by your attendees and some could even potentially end up saving your company significant amounts of money. Many of these simple tips will be discussed and a checklist will be provided. You will also learn some ways to take these learnings and apply them to your personal life at home and on the road

Budget/Sponsorship for Hospitality Partners
As an organization dedicated to the growth and advocacy of our membership initiatives, a key objective of the association is to provide high-energy events and education forums to the members of FICP, while concurrently, offering our sponsoring providers substantial exposure to the insurance and financial conference planning industry. FICP requests that you consider underwriting and/or sponsoring the speaker fee, or a portion of the fee, on an in-kind or complimentary basis. Depending on the magnitude of the speaker fee, co-sponsorships of each of these sessions may be offered to other sponsors (excluding other speaker bureaus).
